Darkness to Light Wellness Journey (10/19/2025)

Darkness to Light Wellness Journey (10/19/2025)

Scripture Focus: Isaiah 61:7 (KJV)

"For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them."

Notes

The Strength to Fight Through Difficult Times

When life hits hard, it’s easy to believe that the pain or confusion is the end of our story. But Isaiah 61:7 reminds us that God is not finished. He promises restoration double for our trouble. That means the seasons of loss, shame, and struggle are not wasted; they’re being used to strengthen us and prepare us for greater things.

This is not just about waiting for blessings, but fighting through choosing to keep faith, hope, and integrity when everything in us wants to give up. The “fight” isn’t always with fists or words; sometimes it’s getting out of bed when depression weighs heavy, praying through tears, or showing kindness when life feels unfair.

What This Message Means to Me

This scripture reminds me that every trial I’ve faced was not meant to destroy me but to develop me. It teaches me that God can take my broken moments and turn them into blessings that overflow. My pain has purpose, and my endurance has value.

There were times I felt unseen and misunderstood, but Isaiah 61:7 gives me hope that the shame I carried will be replaced with joy, that confusion will turn into clarity, and that my story will end in restoration.

I am reminded that restoration doesn’t mean going back to who I was before the storm; it means being made stronger, wiser, and more whole than ever before. Through faith, I can keep fighting, knowing that God is rewriting my story with victory and peace.

Encouragement for you

You are not weak for struggling. You are strong for staying in the fight. Restoration comes in stages, first the breaking, then the healing, then the rebuilding. God specializes in rebuilding what was broken. Every tear, every trial, and every delay is part of your comeback story.

When you feel like giving up, remember: “Everlasting joy shall be unto them.” Your pain has an expiration date. Your promise does not.

Repeat these Affirmations to yourself

I am restored.

My past pain becomes my present power.

I will not give up, because my joy is on the way.

10/1 Lesson

Finding Peace in the Storm

ECE Wellness Center

Objective

Learners will explore how to find calmness and inner peace during stressful or overwhelming situations. They will practice techniques to regulate emotions, manage stress, and return to a centered mindset, even in difficult times.

Reflection

• Storms represent challenges, stress, or difficult moments in life.

• Peace is the calm we can create inside ourselves, even if everything around us feels chaotic.

• Learning to pause, breathe, and reflect helps us respond to situations instead of reacting to them.

Reflection Questions

1. What usually makes you feel stressed or upset?

2. How do you know when your 'storm' is happening inside you?

3. What a tore two things that usually help you feel calmer?

Activity – 'Peace in the Storm' Visualization

• Close your eyes and imagine you are in the middle of a storm with heavy rain and loud thunder.

• Now imagine that the storm slowly fades, the sky clears, and you are safe and calm.

• Draw a picture of your storm on one side of the page and your peaceful place on the other.

Wellness Technique, Calm Breathing with Affirmations

Practice slow breathing while repeating affirmations:

• I am calm in the middle of my storm.

• Peace begins within me.

• My storm does not control me.

• I choose to breathe, release, and be still.

Movement& Music

Play calming instrumental or nature sounds. Invite learners to stretch their arms upward like storm clouds, then slowly bring them down to their sides as the 'storm' passes and peace returns.

Closing Reflection

Take a deep breath and silently say:

• I create my peace, even in storms.

• Calmness is my strength.

• I carry peace with me today.

Sample Answers to Homework

My Reflections:

I will practice being kinder to myself when I feel storms inside me.

My Storm Triggers:

- When I feel overwhelmed with too many tasks at once.

- When people raise their voices or argue around me.

- When I compare myself to others on social media.

My Peace Plan:

When I notice these triggers, I will pause and take 3 deep breaths. I’ll remind myself that I can only do one thing at a time, and I’ll step away from the noise or put my phone down. I’ll listen to calming music or take a short walk to clear my mind.

My Reflections:

- Today I realized I often get caught in my thoughts instead of focusing on what I can control.

- I felt calmer after practicing the breathing exercise during class.

- I want to use the 'peace plan' when I feel stressed about my to-do list.

- I learned that peace is something I can create inside myself.

- I will practice being kinder to myself when I feel storms inside me.

Landscaping the Mind, Body, and Soul

πŸ‘‹ Welcome to today’s Wellness lesson!

You don’t need a classroom, a desk, or even a chalkboard. All you need is your phone or computer, an open heart, and a few minutes to invest in yourself. Today, we’re going to explore how to care for your inner world the way a gardener cares for their soil, plants, and water.

Living restored means treating yourself like a garden giving your body hydration, your mind renewal, and your soul peace. Every time you ground yourself, heal out loud, and evolve, you are tending to your inner landscape. Over time, this creates a life that flourishes in balance and wholeness.

πŸ’§ Watering the Body and Mind

Hydration is the first step to growth. Just as plants wither without water, we lose energy and clarity when we’re dehydrated physically or mentally. Drinking water nourishes the body, while feeding the mind with positive thoughts and new ideas keeps us thriving.

Practice: Each morning, start with a glass of water and one affirmation like: “I am restored and ready to grow today.”

πŸ•Š️ Pulling Weeds: Healing Out Loud

A healthy garden requires pulling weeds. In life, that means clearing out silence, shame, and hidden pain by expressing what you feel. Healing out loud isn’t weakness it’s maintenance. It’s creating space for fresh growth.

Practice: Write down a thought or burden that’s been weighing on you. Read it aloud to yourself, or share it with someone safe. Notice how lighter your inner “garden” feels.

🌱 Planting New Seeds: Evolve

Every garden changes with the seasons. To evolve means planting new seeds, new habits, new circles, new ways of thinking. Growth happens when we replace what no longer serves us with practices that bring joy and peace.

Practice: Choose one small daily habit like journaling for 5 minutes, taking a walk, or practicing gratitude. Watch how those seeds add up to transformation.

✨ Relax in the Shade: Living in Peace

Every flourishing garden offers shade and calm. When we are grounded feet on the earth, breathing deeply, staying present we create that same peace within ourselves.

Practice: Take three deep breaths right now. Feel your feet rooted, your body supported, and your mind at rest. This is your inner shade, your place of peace.

🌟 The Garden of Restoration

Landscaping your mind, body, and soul is a daily process. Water, weed, plant, and rest. With time, you’ll see the beauty of a life restored — thriving, evolving, and grounded in peace. “When you plant new seeds, you choose to heal out loud, grow with intention, and live in peace as your life blossoms into something restored and whole.”

πŸŽ“ Congratulations — you just graduated today’s lesson. πŸ“š

Carry these practices with you, and remember: your inner garden grows every time you nurture it.

Healing out loud is not weakness it’s a strength.
By sharing our struggles, we make space for growth and invite others to heal too.

Affirmation
“I am healing, I am Restored and I am evolving.”
